Sintac participates in a debate in the trade fair EMPACK
The trade fair EMPACK was hosted in Madrid and took place between the 12th and 13th of November, and was the meeting point for the entire packaging sector, welcoming over 400 exhibitors and 11,500 visitors.
During the trade fair, several seminars took place, that offered attendees the opportunity to learn about the latest innovations and trends related to the packaging sector.
SINTAC RECYCLING was invited to participate in a Debate organized by ITENE on November 12, under the title: “Impact of the plastics strategy in the packaging sector”.
Teresa Martínez, Project Director of SINTAC RECYCLING, underscored the importance of intensifying efforts in two areas: eco-design and recycled plastic applications that could lead to high added value products. “Recycling is the main principle of the Circular Economy, where waste becomes a resource. In SINTAC we promote circular recycling for the different flows of plastics“.
She added: “The plastics industry needs to demonstrate proactively its engagement with the sustainable transition of the entire plastics value chain through collective voluntary commitments of the companies”. During the Spanish trade fair, Teresa Martínez presented a new voluntary initiative supported by companies of the sector of boxes of polyolefin for fruits and vegetables, which aims to implement, for the first time in Spain, a GIS for a specific commercial container.
