SINTAC takes part in the conference Adaptation of the plastics sector to the European circular economy strategy

This multi-sectorial event organised by AVEP and aimed at promoting the circular economy in the plastics sector

SINTAC participated today in the conference Adaptation of the plastics sector to the European circular economy strategy: Regulations and Objectives. An event where current issues such as the new regulations on plastics, the future of packaging in the consumer sector and the future of industrial packaging have been discussed.

The day began with the presentation of the Ecodesign Regulation for sustainable products, by Ana Orondo Iglesias de Gómez, of counsel for Public and Regulatory Affairs at Gómez-Acebo & Pombo. Her presentation was followed by that of the Director General of the European Commission Director General for Environment, Icannis Antonopoulos. The chosen topic, in this case, was the Draft Regulation amending the Directive on packaging and packaging waste.

This was followed by a debate on The Future of Packaging in the Consumer Sector. The event was attended by the head of Aguas San Benedetto FEDACOVA; Pedro Reig, the director of ASUCOVA; Óscar Hernandez, the director of ANARPLA; the president of UBE Corporation Europe, Bruno de Bièvre, and the Corporate Sustainability Manager of GRUPO LANTERO, María Rodríguez Cid.

This was followed by a second round table discussion on The Future of Industrial Packaging. The participants in this space for dialogue were the director of Quimacova, Jesus Carretero; the president of Adelma, Miguel Burdeos, the manager of Alción Packaging Solutions, José Fernandez; the director of Cluster E&E, Jesus Pérez, the CEO of NAECO, Antón Fernandez, and the President of AEVAE and CEO of Compo Expert España, Ramón Pelegrín.

The event was organised by AVEP, the Valencian Association of Plastics Entrepreneurs, of which SINTAC’s General Manager, Vicente Olmos, is a member of the Board of Directors. Always walking hand in hand towards a circular economy of plastic.
