SINTAC Recycling attended the 5th National Plastics Recycling Congress, organised by ANARPLA and held at the Riyadh Air Metropolitano Stadium in Madrid. The event brought together more than 450 professionals and 20 speakersto analyse the evolution of plastics recycling and address the main regulatory, industrial and market challenges currently facing the sector.

The opening session was attended by Alejandro Dorado Nájera, Commissioner for the Circular Economy at the Ministry for the Ecological Transition and the Demographic Challenge (MITECO), and Núria Aymerich Rocavert, Special Commissioner for Industrial Competitiveness and SMEs at the Ministry of Industry and Tourism, among other authorities.

Throughout the day, key issues for the development of the sector were addressed, including the evolution of the regulatory framework, the competitiveness of the recycling industry, access to secondary raw materials and the conditions required to promote greater incorporation of recycled materials into industrial applications.

One of the notable presentations was delivered by Antonino Furfari, Managing Director of Plastics Recyclers Europe, focusing on the future of plastics recycling in Europe. His presentation highlighted the need to strengthen controls, harmonise the requirements applicable to imported materials and ensure a competitive supply of quality recycled materials in the European market.

The congress highlighted the growing importance of factors such as quality, traceability and the availability of secondary raw materials in consolidating the recycling market and responding both to new regulatory requirements and to industry demand for recycled materials.

As part of the value chain, SINTAC Recycling contributes to this development through the commercialisation of certified recycled polymers for industrial applications, facilitating access to recycled materials that meet the technical and quality requirements demanded by the market.

Attending the congress enabled SINTAC Recycling to gain first-hand insight into the evolution of the sector, exchange perspectives with other value-chain stakeholders and analyse the main challenges and opportunities that will shape the development of the recycled materials market.
