SINTAC, exhibitor at the International Recycling Forum 2024

This week the 4th International Recycling Forum, organized by RIGK GmbH and EPRO, has taken place in Wiesbaden, Germany. The event, which has been attended by the main players in the plastics recycling value chain in Europe, primarily Germany, is being held in Wiesbaden.

Throughout the two-day forum, key topics such as the complementary roles of mechanical and chemical recycling, the potential of digitalization and the growing impact of AI on recycling processes have been debated. In addition, the future of Extended Producer Responsibility (EPR) for industrial packaging and new innovations and developments in post-consumer recycling have been addressed.

The first day of the event has featured presentations by Gian De Belder of Procter & Gamble on “Unlocking Sustainable Solutions through Industry Partnerships”, Clemens Kitzberger from EREMA Group on “Finest recycled pellet quality in the energy-saving way”, and Ton Emans (Plastics Recyclers Europe) on “Current Market Dynamics in the EU”. Furthermore, Jens Hamprecht from BASF has held a speech on “the recyclability of and recycled content in plastic materials” and our colleague TERESA MARTINEZ gave a presentation on the European LIFE CLOOVER² project.

Additionally, Mike Jefferson, General Manager of EPRO, has moderated a round table on “C&I Packaging – a New Chapter of EPR in Packaging” where Xavier Lhoir from Valipac, Jan Bauer from RIGK GmbH, and Isabel Goyena from ENVALORA took part.
