“The Buoy”, a collaboration with artist Damià Díaz
As a leading plastics recycler, SINTAC Recycling offers a transformative perspective to reimagine Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) within the plastics recycling industry in Spain. By prioritizing and promoting core values such as the 3R Rule (Reduce, Reuse and Recycle), we can go beyond traditional paradigms to create a CSR framework that empowers a Circular Economy in our industry, preserves environmental heritage and upholds corporate governance.

As part of our strategy, we participate in environmental education projects. This year, we had the opportunity to collaborate with the artist Damià Diaz to create the sculpture “The Buoy”.
The Buoy is a piece that evokes both a giant spinning top and a lighthouse that indicates a path to follow. It is made of resin reinforced with recycled plastic and fiberglass, donated by SINTAC. In addition, it is painted with ecological graphene paint that offers CO2 absorbing qualities. After its seven-month exhibition on the museum’s esplanade, the sculpture will have a negative carbon footprint. The buoy points the way to a low-carbon future.
Since October 16, the work of art has been displayed at the Musée des arts et métiers in Paris, France.

This project highlights SINTAC’s commitment to the sustainable development of the plastics industry, thus promoting recycling while addressing systemic challenges. A special mention to our colleague Victoria Lopez for coordinating this outstanding collaboration.
