SINTAC Wins the GoldPack Award for Best Circular Economy Project with LIFE CLOOVER²

A recognition of innovation and sustainability in plastic packaging management

We are proud to announce that SINTAC Recycling has been awarded the GoldPack Award for Best Circular Economy Project. The award was presented during the official ceremony held on July 3rd at Only YOU Hotels Valencia, as part of an event organized by the Packaging Innovation Cluster.

This prestigious recognition highlights excellence in circular economy initiatives, assessing key aspects such as sustainable production, efficient resource use, waste reduction, and transparent communication of environmental benefits.

What is the LIFE CLOOVER² project?

The awarded project, LIFE CLOOVER² (Closed-Loops Verification of Reused and Recycled polyolefins drums, jerricans & crates), is co-financed by the European Union and coordinated by SINTAC in the Valencian Community.

Its main goal is to develop closed-loop systems for the reuse and recycling of polyolefin packaging (drums, jerricans, and fruit/vegetable crates) used in industrial and agri-food sectors, fully complying with the standards of the European Food Safety Authority (EFSA).

A high-impact European project

Selected under the LIFE 2022 Programme, LIFE CLOOVER² is part of the European Green Deal. Out of over 300 proposals submitted across Europe, only 28% of the approved projects were from Spain, making this selection a significant milestone at the national level.

The project stands out for its ability to promote true circularity in plastic packaging management, enabling the full closing of the loop for key materials in the agri-food industry.
