LIFE CLOOVER² submitted to the Packaging Europe Sustainability Awards 2026
The LIFE CLOOVER² project, co-funded by the European Union and coordinated by SINTAC Recycling’s Circular Economy Projects Department, has been officially submitted to the Packaging Europe Sustainability Awards 2026.
The initiative aims to enhance the circularity of polyolefins in Spain by integrating three key pillars: functionality, sustainability, and food safety. It complies with the criteria of the European Food Safety Authority (EFSA) for recycled plastics intended for food contact and aligns with current European Union regulations on packaging and packaging waste, as well as with the European Green Deal and the “Farm to Fork” strategy.
By combining reuse and recycling approaches, LIFE CLOOVER² maximizes resource efficiency and reduces dependence on virgin raw materials.

The project is supported by an External Advisory Board (EAB) composed of leading international organizations, including the Spanish Plastics Centre (CEP), the Extended Producer Responsibility Alliance (EXPRA), RIGK GmbH, and Valipac. The EAB provides strategic and technical expertise essential for replicating the model in other countries.
Submitted under the “Thinking Big” category, the project highlights large-scale collaborative initiatives that go beyond individual products or technologies.
LIFE CLOOVER² continues to advance towards a more circular, sustainable, and future-ready model for the sector.
